Dublin is Ireland's only realistic student gateway airport — almost every Bangladeshi student flies into DUB regardless of which city their college is in, since onward domestic connections (bus, rail, or a short domestic flight to Cork or Shannon) are cheap and frequent from Dublin.
The UK transit-visa trap — Heathrow is not a free stopover for a Bangladeshi passport

Schengen vs Ireland — a separate visa system
Ireland is not in the Schengen Area and has its own visa system (an Irish 'D' study visa, not a Schengen visa), so a Schengen visa never lets you enter Ireland, and an Irish visa never lets you enter Schengen countries.
If your itinerary transits a Schengen country (for example, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Paris) on the way to Dublin, check whether that layover is airside-only or requires clearing Schengen border control — most short connections at major Schengen hub airports are airside and don't need a separate Schengen transit visa for most passport holders, but requirements vary, so confirm with that country's mission in Dhaka before booking.
Student baggage allowances
Ask specifically for the unpublished student fare — it usually comes with meaningfully more checked baggage than the standard economy ticket, which matters for a one-way move to start a degree.
