Biman Bangladesh Airlines runs the only non-stop Dhaka (DAC)–London Heathrow (LHR) service, but most students still fly via Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Istanbul because these hub carriers are often cheaper, offer better student baggage deals, and connect to Manchester (MAN) and Birmingham (BHX) as well as Heathrow. Manchester and Birmingham fares are usually similar to or slightly cheaper than Heathrow on the same hub carrier, and both cities have large Bangladeshi communities and good onward rail links, so it's worth comparing all three destinations rather than defaulting to London.
Student fares and extra baggage
Qatar, Emirates, Turkish, Etihad and Gulf Air all run unpublished student fares aimed at Bangladeshi students, usually with extra checked baggage.
